Prior to founding his firm, James worked with some of the top attorneys in Washington, both in criminal law at the Mazzone Law Firm and civil litigation at Savitt Bruce & Willey. Before switching to private practice, James worked for the Snohomish County Public Defenders and interned for the Honorable Judge Robert Cleland of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In these roles, James solo-tried over a dozen jury trials, wrote numerous appellate briefs, and successfully argued up to the Washington Supreme Court.
James is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, and the University of Wyoming, where he double-majored in History and Anthropology. While in law school, James competed in local and national moot court competitions, and was the Executive Production Editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review.
James was raised in Wyoming, where he learned to love the outdoors. Before law school, James also lived in the Netherlands, England, and South Korea. He spends his free time hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, and traveling with his wife.
